This week the Patching Zone was in Serbia, Novi Sad to be exact. The reason for this visit was Kulturanova invited us to give a workshop.
So the two different departments of the Patching Zone went to Serbia together to do a workshop about Storytelling in Virtual Reality by using 360 degrees video. Last week Thursday we started our travel.
The first day in Novi Sad we went to see the location witch was at Pionirska.
We prepared the workshop and enjoyed the wether (yes it was good: 34 degrees).
Saturday it was finally time after a work of preparation the workshop started and we met the participants. Where Ann introduced the Patching Zone and the projects the Patching Zone has been doing through the years after that David gave a good over view of the history of Virtual Reality and we (the Girls) introduced the workshop. After lunch we started with the first trial movie with the whole group.
Normally we give workshops to student from MBO (with an age between 16 and 22) but this workshop was for professionals. In the group there ware graphic designers, a film director, an journalist and a marketeer. So it was cool to see how different the dynamics ware, and most people already had knowledge of video editing.
And an other video made outside.
After editing the first two video’s ware done at the end of the workshop. So the next day we could continue with new video’s. The participants came up with new ideas and so did we so together we made new video’s. And at the end we had an evaluation, this was a really good example of co-creation. We learned a lot from them and they learned a lot from us.
The last day we had some time to be tourists, we went sight seeing in Novi Sad unfortunately we could not see the Petrovaradin Fortress because while we ware there there was a festival going on called Exit. But we did see the river and the famous bridge, and even better we could enjoy the river beach.
